Circus

By the time the circus leaves
All thats left are memories
dampened grass upon the ground
where the tent had been put down
On the bench holding our hands
looking endlessly out sea
i still remember you
but you don’t remember me
dad and dog and daughter
out running by the bay
from this bench where we sit
we see them every day
we use to dress for town,
now for just sundown
By the time the circus leaves
All thats left are memories
there not so solid anymore
we’re sitting by the shore
and now i come down here
Im sitting all alone
Im waiting here to join you
Its easier than being at home
by the time the circus leaves
all that left are memories
by the time the circus leaves
